Due to a system fault causing a lack of power, more than 2.4 million Toyota hybrid vehicles have been recalled globally, including around 55,000 Auris and Prius models in the UK. This fault affects all produced between October 2008 and November 2014.

The fault could cause vehicles to stall when entering “failsafe” driving mode. Toyota said it was not aware of any actual accidents caused by the fault. They also said Toyota workshops will complete a software update to remedy the issue.
